Mainstream Housing Opportunities for Persons With Disabilities Program
The Department of Housing and Urban Development has established a Mainstream Housing Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Program (Mainstream Program) to provide vouchers to enable persons with disabilities to access affordable private housing of their choice. The Mainstream Program will assist PHAs and nonprofit organizations in providing housing choice vouchers to a segment of the population recognized by HUD's housing research as having one of the worst housing needs of any group in the United States, i.e., very low-income households with adults with disabilities.

DO YOU WANT TO QUIT SMOKING?
Research shows that smokers are most successful in kicking the addiction permanently when they have some means of support such as nicotine replacement therapy, counseling, guide books, and the encouragement of friends and family members.
If you would like to get started, you can call the West Virginia Statewide Tobacco Quit Line at 1-877-YNOTQUIT (1-877-966-8784). They offer a complete program to qualified enrollees which will include phone coaching.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) offers the Smoke-Free Home Pledge kit, which provides information on the dangers of secondhand smoke in the home and its effects on the people around you. You can order your free kit by calling 1-800-513-1157.
For more information about tobacco prevention, please call Angela Noonan, Regional Tobacco Prevention Coalition Coordinator at the Hampshire County Health Department, (304) 496-9640 representing counties of Mineral, Hampshire, Morgan, Jefferson and Berkeley.
