The Eastern Regional Family Resource Network AmeriCorps VISTA Leader

The Eastern Regional Family Resource Network (ERFRN) is looking for a self-motivated, team player to serve as a VISTA Leader. VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national community service program focused on eliminating poverty and the effect poverty has on individuals, families, and communities.

Position Responsibilities (Full Time/40 hours per week)

• Facilitate communication between VISTA members and site supervisors
• Serve as liaison between CNCS, the ERFRN Director, ERFRN Project Manager, and the VISTA sites and members.
• Work with the ERFRN to identify and develop future VISTA sites and members.
• Assist site supervisors in directing VISTA members with project goals.
• Assist site supervisors and program directors in recruiting, interviewing, and placing new VISTA members.
• Support and promote VISTA activities and accomplishments.
• Assist in developing which VISTA resources are most useful and should be utilized by all VISTA project sites.
• Assist in developing strategies for an easy transition for new VISTA members and for those ending their service year.
• Make occasional project site visits.
• Aid in collecting reports and reviewing for compliance.
• Represent VISTA at AmeriCorps gatherings, activities, meetings and other related events. 

Requirements

• Former VISTA or Peace Corps volunteer
• High level of interpersonal communication skills
• Responsible and self-motivated
• Able to handle multiple on-going projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Volunteer Support

• Living Allowance of $1,058 per month
• End of Service Stipend of $1,500 or Education Award of $5,350
• Health Insurance
